On June 20, 1925, 99 years ago, the highest decorated soldier in World War II, Audie Murphy, was born in rural Hunt County, Texas. Murphy starred as himself, in the 1955 movie, "To Hell and Back." He was killed in a plane crash in 1971. The following video clip is from the movie, "To Hell and Back," where Murphy holds off any entire German infantry, with a .50 caliber machinegun, while on a burning tank destroyer.
