On August 5, 1934, 90 years ago, "The Voice," singer/songwriter Vern Gosdin, was born in Woodland, Alabama. Originally, a member of The Gosdin Brothers duo, with brother Rex, Vern ventured out on his own, as a solo performer. He died on April 28, 2009, following a second stroke, at the age of 74. In 1983, Gosdin recorded a song he co-wrote with the late Max D. Barnes called, "If You're Gonna Do Me Wrong (Do it Right)." It finished at #5, on the U.S. Billboard Chart.
