This is American citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin.
Hersh loved music, dancing and spending time with his friends.
On Oct 7th, as he was dancing at the Nova Festival he was forced to flee and hide in a bunker as terrorists stormed the music festival.
As he hid with his friends, the attackers threw multiple grenades inside the shelter, killing those hiding and blowing Hersh’s left arm off.
Hersch had desperately tried to save his friends as each grenade was thrown inside he threw one out until he was unable to reach one of the grenades in time and it exploded.
In April, he appeared in a propaganda video looking extremely frail and malnourished as he told his parents “I love you.”
He has spent 249 in harrowing conditions as a hostage in Gaza.
He holds dual American-Israeli citizenship.
